Known for their spooky pop vibe, Voicebox from University of Central Florida has shifted gears a bit for their UpStaged AID submission, entering the competition with Imagination, originally performed by Labrinth. The group is competing for The Trevor Project in the Southeast Region.

The Midnight Ramblers

The University of Rochester Midnight Ramblers have achieved international recognition through their live performances and recordings and maintain their status as one of the most energetic and musically ambitious college a cappella groups in the country. The Ramblers are competing in UpStaged AID’s Northeast Region with their rendition of Redbone, featuring soloist and arranger Ben Emmerich and Keegan Stricker on VP. The group has chosen the Rochester Area Community Foundation for their charity.

Amplified from University of Arizona is a 17 member, mixed voice, student-led a cappella ensemble. They are competing in UpStaged AID’s West Region and have chosen the NAACP Environmental and Climate Justice Program as their charity! The group has submitted their rendition of Saturn, originally performed by Sleeping at Last, as their competition song.

Hum A Cappella

Born in the heart of Texas, Hum A Cappella is the University of Texas’ very own South Asian fusion a cappella group. They are competing in UpStaged AID’s Southwest Region with their rendition of Bheege, featuring soloists Ajay Thatte, Sumedha Nag and Rupasri Shankar and arranged by: Rupasri Shankar. The group is competing for the Lebanese Red Cross.

Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap is the gender-inclusive a cappella group on campus at the University of Oregon competing in UpStaged AID’s West Region. The submitted their mashup of Rise / The Weekend, originally performed by Solange/SZA (feat. Calvin Harris) and selected to appear on BOCA 2020! They are competing for Don’t Shoot Portland.

Duke Out of the Blue

We were so thrilled to sit down with UpStaged AID competitors, Out of the Blue, the oldest, all-female a cappella group at Duke University.
